Sic Bo looks like a crowded spreadsheet the first time you open it: dozens of boxes, numbers from 1 to 6, totals from 4 to 17. Relax. Underneath, it is a three-dice game where you simply guess what the dice will show. This guide breaks the layout into a handful of bet types, explains why some pay more than others, and gives you a calm way to play. It is a guide from the official KG999 partner site, so always confirm the table's own paytable.
How a round plays out
A dealer shakes three dice in a covered cage or rolls them in a chamber, and the result appears on screen. Before the dice move you place chips on the layout, and after they land every bet is settled at once. There are no decisions during the round, just the choice of where to put your stake.
Because three six-sided dice give 216 possible outcomes, the maths behind each bet is easy to reason about. Bets that cover many outcomes pay little, and bets that cover few outcomes pay a lot.
The bet types, from calm to wild
Big and Small are the entry point. Small wins on totals from 4 to 10, Big wins on totals from 11 to 17, and both normally lose if the three dice show the same number (a triple). That triple rule is how the house gets its edge on these bets. Odd and Even work similarly.
Single-number bets win if your number appears on at least one die, and pay more when it appears on two or three dice. Pair bets need two dice to match. Total bets pick an exact sum, and the unusual sums near the ends pay the most because they are rare. Triple bets, either a specific triple or any triple, pay the biggest multiples of all.
| Bet | What you need | Payout style | How it feels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big / Small | Total in the high or low range, no triple | Even money | Frequent small results |
| Single number | Your number on one, two or three dice | Rises with the number of matches | Medium swings |
| Specific pair | Two dice show the same chosen number | Higher multiple | Occasional wins |
| Exact total | Dice add up to your chosen sum | Varies by sum; extremes pay most | Long gaps between wins |
| Triple | Three matching dice | Highest multiples | Rare and house-edge heavy |
House edge in plain words
The edge changes with the bet. Big and Small sit at the low end of the Sic Bo range, though still above many card-game bets. Single-number bets are somewhat fairer because the extra payouts for two or three matches are built in. Exact totals and triple bets generally carry the largest edge, so they suit tiny, fun stakes only. The paytable on your table is the final word, because live versions sometimes tweak payouts.
A calm way to play
Start with Big or Small, or a single number, and watch several rounds before adding anything else. Do not spread chips across twenty boxes just because they are there: every chip you place carries its own edge, and covering many outcomes feels safe while still losing in the long run. A budget broken into many small bets gives you longer entertainment than a few big ones.
Dice have no memory. If Small has come up six times in a row, the next roll is as fair as the first. Our probability basics explains why runs look meaningful but are not.
Checking the lobby
Open the live casino lobby on the KG999 site or app and check which tables are actually listed before you plan a session; lobbies change, and we cannot see yours from here. If Sic Bo is missing, roulette offers a similar spread-your-chips layout, and the live casino overview lists other game types. For time and money limits, see responsible gaming.
