If you grew up around family card games, you probably know Teen Patti from Diwali-style gatherings or a late evening with cousins. The casino version keeps the three cards and the hand names but changes the structure: you usually play against a dealer or a fixed set of hands instead of reading your friends' faces. This guide explains the rankings, the typical live formats, and the bets you may see. It is a guide from the official KG999 partner site, so check each table's own rules in the KG999 lobby.
The hand rankings you need
Each player is dealt three cards, and a fixed order ranks the hands from top to bottom. Learning this order is 80 percent of the game. Strongest is the trail (three of a kind). Then come the pure sequence, also called a straight flush, the sequence (a straight in mixed suits), the color (a flush), the pair and, last, high card. Ace is usually the top card, though some rules let A-2-3 count as the lowest sequence.
Card order for tie-breaking runs from ace down to two, and tables spell out any exceptions in their rules.
- Trail: three cards of the same rank
- Pure sequence: three cards in a row, all one suit
- Sequence: three cards in a row, mixed suits
- Color: three cards sharing a suit, out of sequence
- Pair: two cards of the same rank
- High card: none of the above
How live tables usually work
Home Teen Patti is a betting game between players. Casino tables normally simplify it. In a common live format, the dealer deals a hand for Player A and a hand for Player B, and you bet on which will win. Another popular format has you play your own hand against the dealer's, with a fixed ante and a choice to fold or raise. A third format adds bonus bets paying for high ranking hands like pairs or better.
Because these formats vary, never assume your table works like the game you know from home. Read the rules panel for the payout of each bet, how ties are handled, and whether a minimum hand is needed for the dealer to qualify.
Bets and side bets
On a two-hand format, the main bet is simply the side you think will win, usually at close to even money. Side bets such as Pair Plus or a bonus that pays for high-ranking hands offer a larger payout in exchange for a higher house edge. The usual advice applies: treat side bets as entertainment and keep them to a small fraction of your main stake.
| Format | What you decide | Complexity | Where the edge comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-hand (A vs B) | Which hand wins | Very low | Tie handling and small commission |
| Player vs dealer | Play or fold after seeing your cards | Medium | Ante and qualifying rules |
| Bonus side bets | Whether to add a side wager | Low | Payout table on high hands |
Playing it responsibly
Familiar games can lull you into overconfidence. You may feel that knowing Teen Patti from home gives you an edge, but against a dealer the odds are fixed by the rules, not by reading people. Set a budget before you start, and treat the session as paid entertainment. Our responsible gaming page lists simple limits to use.
Open the live casino lobby on the KG999 site or app and check which tables are actually listed before you plan a session; lobbies change, and we cannot see yours from here.

Andar Bahar is another card game with South Asian roots and even simpler rules. For something that rewards decisions, blackjack is the table where strategy changes the edge. The full range is in the live casino overview.
